Detailed itinerary of 7 Days Kidepo Valley Safari
Day 1: Pick up from the airport to the Hotel
The company driver guide will receive you at the Entebbe international airport, brief you about the tour and drop you off at the Hotel of your choice around Entebbe or Kampala where you’ll have your dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer from Kampala to Gulu town
You’ll meet with the driver guide after your breakfast and drive northwards through Kitgum to Gulu. It takes about 7 hours to arrive at Gulu town where you’ll spend your night.
Dinner and overnight at Churchill Hotel/Boma hotel
Day 3: From Gulu to Kidepo Valley national park
You’ll have your breakfast and proceed with the journey northwards to Kidepo Valley national park. it takes about 3-4 hours to arrive there. You’ll have lunch and later on drive to Narus Valley for an evening game drive. This place often has large herds of animals especially buffaloes and others which attract predators such as lions, cheetahs.

Day 4: Morning game drive and Karamajong Visit/Hot spring visit
After an early morning breakfast, you’ll drive to the savannah plains of Kidepo national park for wildlife/game viewing. The vast plains enable tourists to view big game such as elephants, zebras, giraffes, lions, cheetahs, antelopes and birds especially ostriches. After about a 4 hours game drive, you’ll return to the lodge, relax while enjoying the beauty of nature around the lodge.
You’ll have lunch and later on in the evening head out for an evening cultural encounter in the communities of the Karamajongs who have a lifestyle related to those of the Maasai in Kenya and Tanzania. This is an evening of entertainment by the traditional dances and learning about their cultures.
Day 5: Transfer to Murchison Falls national park
You’ll wake up to an early breakfast, check out and drive through Gulu town to Murchison falls national park. You’ll have lunch enroute and proceed to the park where you’ll arrive in the evening.

Day 6: Morning game drive and afternoon Boat cruise
After enjoying your breakfast, you’ll drive out to different areas in the park specifically where most wildlife roam in the morning hours. Murchison falls National Park is a natural habitat to a range of animals including lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, giraffes and lots of antelopes which some of them will be spotted on your game drive. After the game drive, you’ll return to the lodge, relax or refresh and have lunch.
You’ll later on go for a boat cruise which will take you along River Nile to the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls. Among the interesting wildlife of this park, you’ll see various bird species, crocodiles, hippos, elephants and finally the breathtaking Murchison waterfalls.

Day 7: Return to Kampala
After breakfast, you’ll check out of the lodge and have a brief game drive as you return to Kampala. You’ll have your lunch enroute and in case you are interested in tracking for rhinos, you can inform your driver guide so that he can plan for it in advance so that you’ll stop at Ziwa rhino sanctuary for a 2 hours rhino tracking and then proceed to Kampala.
The driver guide will drop you at Entebbe international airport or at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe to end the tour.
