7-Day Tanzania Great Migration Safari
On this exciting 7-Day Tanzania Great Migration Safari and action-packed safari you’ll spend six night in the Serengeti, split between two different areas to maximise your chances of seeing the migration. No wildlife event on the planet rivals the Great Migration for sheer drama and we’ll ensure that you’re at the right place at the right time to witness this wildlife phenomenon. Depending on the time of year we will amend your itinerary to match the movements of the herds.
Day 1 : Arrival and Fly to the Serengeti
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport, you’ll be met and transferred for your flight to the Southern Serengeti. Your home for the next three nights is Lemala Mara & Ndutu Camp, a sophisticated mobile retreat designed to follow the Great Migration. Depending on the season, the camp is strategically positioned in either the South or the North to provide the best possible access to the moving herds. This unhurried approach ensures you are perfectly placed to witness the world’s most spectacular wildlife event while enjoying refined comfort in the heart of the Tanzanian wilderness.

Day 2-3 : Great Migration Safari
The Great Migration is a spectacular annual cycle where millions of wildebeest and zebra traverse the Serengeti. From December to April, the herds gather in the South for calving season, an event that draws intense predator activity. As they move north, the animals must navigate the treacherous Mara River crossing, braving powerful currents and lurking crocodiles. Our specialists use their in-depth knowledge to ensure your journey is perfectly timed, positioning you in the heart of the action to witness this raw and breathtaking display of survival in the African wild.

Day 4 of 7-Day Tanzania Great Migration Safari : Fly to the Central Serengeti
Today after a morning activity you will be transferred to the airstrip in time for your flight to Central Serengeti. Home for the next three nights is Lemala’s permanent sister camp, Ewanjan. Ewanjan is situated in the central Serengeti’s Seronera River Valley and although there are a number of other lodges and camps in this area, Lemala EwanjanCamp manages to maintain a wild, adventurous feel.

Day 5-6 : Safari in the Central Serengeti
Spend the next two days exploring the heart of the Serengeti, an ideal terrain for tracking Africa’s Big Five. While lions and elephants are plentiful, the park’s northern reaches offer your best chance to spot the rare black rhino. The Central Serengeti provides exceptional wildlife viewing year-round, with the Great Migration often passing through in the shoulder seasons. Whether witnessing the massive scale of the moving herds or intimate predator encounters, this iconic landscape offers a sophisticated and unhurried immersion into the very best of Tanzania’s wilderness.

Day 7 : Fly to Arusha/Kilimanjaro
Today you will check-out from your Serengeti accommodation and your guide will drive you to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight back to Arusha/Kilimanjaro to complete your journey.
